Different Styles Of Promotional Pens

By: Gareth Parkin

Promotional pens come in many different styles, they are available in a variety of shapes, colors, ink colors, and even physical pen styles. A combination of the target audience and the nature of the product or service being promoted will greatly effect the style chosen when making the decision to purchase a run of promotional pens. Choosing the right style of promotional pen to distribute is almost as important as choosing where to distribute them, and how they will be distributed.

If you are running a company whose target audience includes upper white collar workers then you will probably want to leave the bright neon colors to the pens that promote clubs. Regal blues, burgundies and blacks make impressive background colors, and the text and graphics would look very smart in embossed gold or silver. Another popular option with highly stylish promotional pens is to produce them in a roller ball package with a gloss finish. Gone are the days of the traditional plastic ballpoint, now a days companies have the option of purchasing runs of upscale promotional pens that would be more at home in a haberdashery than a bar counter. High style does not necessarily mean high price however, and when you take the time to research the latest innovations in promotional pen manufacturing you will see that there are great bargains to be had out there, and really what is a few extra pennies when it comes to presenting your corporate image to the rest of the world.

On the flip side if you are considering promotional pens for advertising a nightclub or bar then you can probably safely go for a more inexpensive plastic ballpoint pen with shockingly bright lettering and backgrounds. These are meant more to grab attention than convey a sense of class. This is also probably one of the only scenarios where you would be justified in using an ink color other than blue or black. As a rule if you are going for a serious or professional look in your promotional pen always use blue or black ink; however for a little whimsy feel free to explore other ink options such as red, purple, or even green. Fluorescent inks used in promotional pens can also be a great attention getter, however these tend to greatly add to the cost of a promotional pen, so use sparingly. With the thousands of different style options available you are sure to find a style of promotional pen that is just right for you.
