Hotels On The Island Vulcano

Visiting the Aeolian Islands just north of Sicily is an invigorating vacation. While there, you get the opportunity to wade in warm water, experience a real mineral spring, visit ancient ruins and museums, and play on black sand beaches. You may also get to see a small volcanic eruption and lava flow. The island Vulcano is one of the seven inhabited islands in an archipelago chain of ten that sports an active volcano, and knowing where to stay while there gives the trip a taste of home

The Hotel Conti is only a few minutes from the port of the island and faces the darks sands of the bay on Ponente. This sixty-seven room hotel was built in the middle of a garden. Each too has a private entrance, bath, television, hairdryer, air conditioner, and safe. Some of its other amenities, besides the beautiful beach and garden, are a lounge, restaurant and pizzeria. Many visitors can enjoy the mineral hot springs and natural mud baths on the island all within reasonable distance from the hotel.

Les Sable Noir is a four-star hotel facing the Baia di Ponente on Vulcano and is also located on the black sand beaches. It offers standard rooms and junior suites furnished in Mediterranean style, many of them including a wide balcony. It also has a swimming pool, private beach, and restaurant. There is also a piano bar for tourists to enjoy.

Therasia Resort hotel stands out against the promontory of Vulcanello, boasting a view of the other six inhabited islands in the chain. The air around this hotel is clean with rosemary and broom flowers drifting around its walls made from molten rock, terracotta, cedar and olive wood. It offers guests a restaurant, and an American bar. There is a seawater swimming pool, and black sand private beach. The rooms are all down in the native style, offer balconies and patios that overlook the sea or the gardens, air conditioning, safes, mini-bars, telephone, satellite television and Internet connection. Small pets are welcome here.

The Eros Hotel overlooks Levante bay, close to the center of Vulcano Porto. It is surrounded by a lush garden with an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant, snack bar, lounges and reading room. Rooms come with a variety of bedding choices, private bathrooms, telephone, air conditioning, mini bar and satellite. It has a Jacuzzi on the property for the guests use, and offers shuttle service to the many island attractions. Pets are also welcome here.

No matter where you stay on the island of Vulcano, tourists can easily get to the many attractions on the island. Guided tours are available and access to the other islands in the chain is available. There are other places to stay on the island if you do not wish to stay at one of the hotels. These include apartment, rooms for rent and Bed and Breakfasts. Depending on how long you wish to stay will decide which the best lodging facility is for you. Once there, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the warmth of the Mediterranean sun.
